Miami is full of people that love art, that call themselves art collectors, but realistically all they do is purchase one piece at some generic shop...or they join one of the museum groups for parties once in awhile and free drinks.  Then there are people like Nina Johnson-Milewski, the director / owner of Gallery Diet in Wynwood, that not only support the arts in Miami, think the Miami Rail, but support all the educational programs and non-profits in Miami.

Nina set up a little online fundraiser for the month of August to support a few of her favorite organizations in town. You'll see below links to three individual pages, just click on the one for the group you would most like to support. If you decide to purchase something (Johnny Boy suggests the above piece from Clifford Owens) from an organization you aren't currently a member of, you'll receive membership as part of your purchase, and regardless of membership, if you purchase something that organization will receive a 20% donation of the sale price. 

The pieces start at an affordable $400 to around $20,000, featuring artists such as Clifford Owens, Abby Manock, Daniel Milewski, Christy Gast, Bhakti Baxter, Richard Hoglund, and Kristopher Benedict, amongst many others.
