It is truly an end of an era for the Miami Art Museum (MAM). They are officially closing their doors as of Monday, June 3, 2013, to prepare the transition to their new digs in Museum Park, where they will reopen as Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) in December.
Johnny Boy is super excited to go through the new Herzog & de Meuron designed museum, while doing cartwheels through the exhibition spaces and down the stairs onto the water. But since that party will have to wait until they reopen in December, you might as well take advantage of the MAM Closing Party BBQ this Saturday, June 1, from 7 - 10pm. Join them for the "Lights Out Party" at the Cultural Center Plaza, featuring bites by Sparky’s Roadside BBQ (YUM) and a DJ from HOT 97.7fm. The closing party is coordinated in collaboration with the nomadic artist project the end in conjunction with New Work Miami 2013, which, along with Frames of Reference: Latin American Art from the Jorge M. Perez Collection, will be on view throughout the evening.
The BBQ is free for members, and $10 for non-members. You can RSVP or purchase tickets HERE. The MAM is at 101 West Flagler Street, and parking is free at 50 NW 2nd Avenue. See you all there!
You killed me with the cartwheels line…
HAHA, you know you’ll be joining me in those cartwheels, look at the space 🙂
